Indian Canyon Local Rules

Rules specific to the Indian Canyon Golf Course.

Ground Under Repair: will be marked by lines and/or signs.  Disturbed areas where trees have been recently removed, which includes their stumps, shall be treated as ground under repair whether marked or not.

Sprinkler heads near greens: If an irrigation head interferes with your line, relief may be allowed provided that the head is within two club lengths of the green and your ball lies within two club lengths of the head.

Out of Bounds (OB): Maintenance area defined by rock wall (2½ feet high) between holes #5 and #6.  The rock wall is an OB fence, not an obstruction — no relief without penalty.

Cart Paths: Free relief from all cart paths that are paved or graveled.  All white-lined areas tied into cart paths have the same status as cart paths.  No free relief from bare dirt paths.  Other work areas and service roads not surfaced (dirt) or marked are deemed to be integral parts of the course, and the ball shall be played as it lies — no free relief.

Hole #13: A ball hit into the “gully” must not be played/retrieved.  Options are to hit from the marked drop zone across the gully or re-tee with one stroke penalty taken.

IC has not adopted the USGA Alternative rule to stroke and distance for lost ball or out of bounds.  Therefore, if your ball is lost or OB, you must go back to the last place you hit the ball, take a penalty stroke, and hit from that spot again.  You can also declare a provisional ball if you think the ball may be lost.

Rule 3-3: If you have any doubt as to a ruled, play two balls and you MUST report to the rules committee before signing your scorecard.  Before proceeding under this rule, the player must state which ball they wish to score with.
